4. The STUDENT ENGINEER, with the assistance of the CLC RADIO Manager and Chief Engineer, will appoint selected CLC RADIO Air Staff (“disc jockeys”) as Production assistants as needed (since all DJs are required to act as PA's as well), thus allowing for the delegation of some authorized duties to those charges.  The STUDENT ENGINEER must have substantial on-air experience or ability, and should work at least one air-shift each week.  The Student Engineer should try to develop a good speaking voice for use at Live Events when announcements are to be made,

5. The STUDENT ENGINEER is responsible for training new disc jockeys in their TECHNICAL duties and technical responsibilities as CLC RADIO DJs.

6. The STUDENT ENGINEER is responsible for training new disc jockeys on the mobile sound system and for assigning crews to work scheduled jobs when a production director has not been appointed nor available.

10. WITHOUT EXCEPTION, all ideas and concerns pertaining to technical considerations and ideas regarding how the station is technically run will be forwarded to and discussed with the chief engineer and the general manager at all times.  No other persons are to be informed of any technical or engineering concerns or recommendations.  All recommendations from clcradio student or regular staff will be considered only when solicited by the Chief Engineer, General Manager, and Station Manager.  Involving others in any technical or purchasing decision will only serve to delay any process completion.  Any ideas considered or modified will be forwarded by the Chief Engineer to the proper purchasing or procuring authority of CLC at times deemed appropriate by those authorities.  Any items of concern forwarded in writing must be checked for timeliness, accuracy, spelling and grammar, as these ideas usually will be forwarded to purchasing or procurement authorities as is, initialed or signed as well by the Chief Engineer.

The Student Engineer may be expected to become involved in the Station Budget process along side the Program Director per the rules applied to him or her when that process starts in December each school year.
